Neoplan Centroliner in HK

Neoplan had introduced the Centroliner to Hong Kong since September 1998. The first Centroliner arrived to Hong Kong on September 10, 1998 and the owner is Kowloon Motor Bus. KMB was then sent to the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre for participating the UITP 1998.

The whole order for KMB is consisted of 20 Centroliner N4026/3. Part of the bus was took into services on route 269C since August 1, 1999. In 1999, KMB and NWFB had also made another acquirement with 60 and 30 Centroliner N4026/3 respectively. Afterward, KMB had made a further order with 50 Centroliner N4426/3 during the year.

The first two new generation of Centroliner were delivered to Hong Kong on May 2000. NWFB put the first Centroliner into services on route 2X since June 30, 2000. And the KMB also put all the New Centroliner into the services on New Territories routes.

In the end of April 2001, Neoplan introduced two Centroliner equipped with MAN engine which is appeared as Euro III standard. It is different from those using Cummins M11-305E engine with only Euro II standard. These Euro III Centroliner have been painted with Magic Green color before delivered to Hong Kong. They are likely to be put into services in a short time.
