KMB Dennis Lance 11.7metres ( AN )
In 1993, the Kowloon Motor Bus acquired 12 Dennis Lance dual-doorways single-deck bus for serving on the high demand bus routes. In that time, most of them allocated to the Route 30X and Route 238X. With the highest passenger capacity among all the single-deck bus in the franchised fleets in HK, the dual-door Lance served very well and had a great performance.
On the other hand, in the mean time, in order to enhance the services of the Airbus Route of the Hong Kong ( Kai Tak ) International Airport, Kowloon Motor Bus acquired 12 Dennis Lance single-door airbus from UK. Actually the Lance airbus is not much different from the bus-spec version, but just installed with a single-door for entrance and exit and allocated with a large luggage compartment.
After serving for five years, the Hong Kong ( Kai Tak ) International Airport close, and thus these Lance airbus were being kept in the KMB's depot for the conversion work. This conversion work included re-painting the livery with the Long Win Bus standard livery so as to transfer them to this bus company. Long Win Bus is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Kowloon Motor Bus and provides the airbus services for the Chek Lap Kok Airport.
